Hendrix P. Lewis
Candidate for Aurora Public Schools Board of Education
Building bridges, inspiring trust, and putting students first.

Hello, my name is Hendrix Percival Lewis, and I am originally from Bryan, Texas, now proud to call Aurora, Colorado home.
I bring more than 25 years of experience as a Principal Engineer in the aerospace industry, where I currently serve as the Software Quality and Mission Assurance Program Lead for a Colorado-based company.
Outside of work, I dedicate time to my church, love to bake and cook, and spend meaningful time with my wife and children. I also value the bonds I share with my fraternity brothers of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., and my Masonic brothers.
I’m passionate about learning and teaching life’s lessons to my children — often laughing at how I’ve become the kind of parent I once said I’d never be!
Education has

role in my journey.
These experiences have strengthened my belief in the transformative power of education and the importance of collaborative leadership.

My Why
My decision to run for the Aurora Public Schools Board of Education comes from a deep commitment to our children’s future and a belief in the power of a collaborative community.
I’ve witnessed how communication gaps between parents and teachers can create tension and misunderstanding. I want to bridge that divide, building a foundation of trust so we can work together effectively for our students.
My goal is to bring enlightenment and a fresh perspective to the board, creating a culture of transparency, respect, and productive dialogue.
I will serve as a bridge between the school district and the community by actively listening to and engaging with teachers, parents, students, and community members. Everyone deserves to be heard — regardless of race, age, or gender.
Engaging With Our Future Leaders

I've been actively involved in youth programs and community initiatives, helping organize events that bring students, parents, and educators together!
